Validation 1 - 2-D Flat Plate Airfoil

V1.1 Model

A high aspect ratio (AR=20) wing model was constructed to obtain 2-D pressure coefficients for

comparison to theoretical data. The model has a wing span of 20 units and a chord of 1 unit. The Angle-

of-Attack is 10° at an airspeed of 10 unit/sec and density of 1 mass unit/length

. The Cp at the center of

the model was obtained for 2, 5, 10, and 15 chord wise panel density. Each of the two surfaces has 34

span wise panels.
